Thursday's Standings

No pictures tonight, as I didn't bring the camera to the game, and the kids were in no mood to pose by the time we finally made it home! :-) Austin had a game tonight in Clayton, and after remaining tied for quite a bit of the game, they lost 2 to 4 for the final score. What a bummer! I didn't get to see the game, myself, but Jamie was there to help with the base coaching. Austin is complaining of a sore foot (same spot that was bothering him in basketball) tonight, and he is hoping that it is feeling better by Saturday's two soccer meets. I keep telling him to put ice on it, but he complains that the ice is cold--go figure!!!

Andrew's team played in Cumberland tonight. Andrew and Abby rode to the game with our friends, the Mikunda's, and I met them at the game after work. Andrew had a good game with 2 good hits. He also scored twice. We won 5 to 1 tonight in Cumberland. He has a tournament on Saturday for baseball in Grantsburg, so he will miss the soccer meets. Only the sixth grade boys will be playing in this tournament, so both of the Barron teams will combine their sixth graders for one team. All of the boys are looking forward to playing together again as one team.

Abby had a field trip to Skate City in Rice Lake today with her class. She had a good time, and wanted to reassure me that she didn't skate any "couple skates" holding hands with any boys today! I guess she thought I would be worried about that!

Well, off to help finish homework!

The Class of 2011

Austin had his "graduation" tonight from 8th grade! We had an ice cream social, followed by a program in the gym with a slide show of all of the kids. Here are some pictures from the evening of Austin posing with his 11 X 17 picture of him as a toddler that was hanging on the wall at the social, and a pic of a few of his friends hanging out together one last time as eighth graders...
Tomorrow, both boys have baseball games. Andrew playes in Cumberland, and Austin plays in Clayton. I guess Jamie will go to Clayton, and I will go to Cumberland right from work. Abby had her last day of piano lessons tonight--her piano recital will be this Sunday afternoon, and then she will have the summer off!

Stepping Stones

Yesterday, the kids made stepping stones out of cement with Jamie's help. Abby wanted to make one with her hand print and Jack's paw print to commemerate Jack's birthday. The boys weren't quite as enthusiastic about the project as Abby was. Austin put his hand print in his stepping stone, along with his name and the year. We were suprised at how big his hand is getting. Andrew, however, decided to leave his own special mark. We looked over to check his progress, only to find him with his pants down and his butt-cheeks smack-dab in the middle of the wet cement of his stepping stone! What a dork! The palms of my hands are peeling today after having them in the cement yesterday--I wonder what Andrew's cheeks look like today???

A Babe Ruth Win!

Austin had his first game of the season tonight against Ladysmith. Barron won the game 7 to 6. Austin scored the first run as the lead-off batter in the game. He scored before the second batter even hit/walked! He stole all the bases and ended up stealing home--his slide into home plate was less-than-graceful, but he hit the plate anyway! He is happy to be a WINNER!

A Victory for Barron Maroon!

Andrew's baseball team had a great night with a victory over Chetek, 11 to 1. Andrew had an AWESOME hit into right center, and played great at shortstop. Here he is showing his enthusiasm over the Big "W"...

Jack's Big Day

Jack enjoyed his birthday cake today. Abby lovingly made his cake this morning, all the while gagging over the disgusting smell of canned dog food! Jack, however, found the smell to be wonderful, and wolfed down his cake with a smile!

Jack's 2nd Birthday!

It is Jack's second birthday on Monday, May 28th! Abby is SO excited to celebrate--she is planning on getting out the party hats to commemerate the day. Here is a picture of last year's birthday celebration for Jack, and a recent picture of Jack thinking of birthday cake...

A Night at the Movies

Abby recently had her Spring Dance Recital, A Night at the Movies, at the Rice Lake Auditorium. She did an Awesome job in her hip-hop routine. Here are some photos of her and her class...

How could I forget Basketball???

Basketball is FINALLY over--here is a photo of Andrew playing in his State Tournament games in Wausau this March. Their team was invited to play in this tournament, and we are hoping they will be invited back next year.

Scoring in Soccer!

Austin and Andrew are both playing soccer this spring for the Barron U-14 team. They are traveling to other towns every Saturday and playing 2 games a day. Abby is also playing soccer. All three kids are quite good--their size and speed makes them good players. Here are both boys on the field getting ready to kick at mid-field. Both boys each scored a goal at their last game--that was exciting! Abby is also a scoring machine--she plays on a co-ed team, and is the youngest one on the team, but gets right in the middle of the action and isn't afraid of the bigger boys at all!

NSYNC in Barron!!!

Austin and some of his buddies performed in the Riverview Talent Show doing a lip sync and dance routine to the NSYNC's, "Bye, Bye, Bye"--they were AWESOME, just ask them!

Andrew's Birthday

Andrew celebrated his 12th birthday on May 16th. The highlight of his night was having the staff at Applebees sing the Happy Birthday song to him, courtesy of his little sister. He loved that! (just kidding!)

Air Dennis

HIT Basketball Tournaments the end of March was a fun time for our family to get together for some ballin'--Grandpa Denny even nailed the "3-ball" he had been trying for for the past three years!

Golden Birthday

Austin celebrated his Golden Birthday on March 14th--guess how old he was???

A Rookie Post

Well, it seems my sisters have both created blogs, so I can't be left behind. This is my attempt to appease all of those who are disgusted with my e-mailing abilities, or lack there-of!

Here is a lovely picture of the kids taken on March 14--Austin's golden birthday. As you can see, Andrew and Abby are thrilled for their brother...
