Happy 1 Week Birthday, Puppies!

Today the puppies are one week old. Abby, Bailey, and I stopped to see them on our way home from Abby's basketball in Rice Lake. Misty is doing well and is already ready to play some ball!
Poor Jack is missing out on all of the fun of the puppies. Here he is snuggling with Andrew at home.

The little puppies are so happy when they are all in a big pile. We tried to line them all up in a row for a picture, but they didn't stay still long enough, and kept going right back into a "ball of puppies"!

The puppies' noses have turned black in the week since they were born (see my previous post of 9-22-07)--aren't they cute!!!

Here is Abby giving a little girl puppy some love...

Homecoming 2007

Tonight was the homecoming dance at BHS. Austin and a group of his Freshman Friends all went together out to Pizza Hut for a pre-dance meal and then for a quick game of bowling before the dance started. I was lucky enough to be the chauffeur for the evening's activities...
From left to right: Courtney, David, Raquel, Kyle, Ralica, Matt, Cadie, Austin
They all looked so nice dressed up! And, no, they are not couples! :-)

"I feel pretty, and witty, and GAY!!!!"

The Freshman boys performed a lovely rendition of "I Feel Pretty" for the lip sync competition for homecoming week on Friday afternoon. Since I had the day off work, I snuck into the balcony and watched the performance. These five boys did such a wonderful job of dancing and prancing around the stage in their dresses--what a proud moment! And as my mother, my three sisters, and my brother know (Remember, mom, Sheri, Sheila, Maite, and Woody!), "I Feel Pretty" is one of my personal favorites!!! :-)
Here are the boys at the beginning of the song--looking oh, so pretty!
And here are the boys at the finale of the song, looking oh, so gay!

My son, the cheerleader...

It is Homecoming week at BHS, and Austin is enjoying his first year in High School with all of the extra activities that surround Homecoming. Sunday night was the Powder Puff football game, and Austin and some of his fellow male classmates were the cheerleaders for the Freshman girls team. They didn't do too bad, but I am happy to say that I don't think they have a future in cheerleading! :-)
Here is Austin and some friends getting the crowd going...

More astounding acrobatics from the Freshman class!

The poor Freshman girls had a rough night on the field--I don't remember the score of their game against the seniors, something like 24 to 0. The boys, however, put on a pretty good show, and were second to the senior boys in performance. I hope that is something I don't have to see again for a long time!

Raiders WIN!!!

Abby had her first basketball game in the Rice Lake League on Saturday morning. Her team name is the Raiders. She is lucky number 13! Her team won the game 8 to 6. Abby was the only one in the game to commit a foul--she is just like her mom!
Here is the little guard bringing the ball up the court.

Abz is enjoying basketball so far this year, and can't wait for next week and another game!

The Puppies are Here!!!!!!!

Today was the BIG DAY!!! Misty had eleven puppies this afternoon--six boys and five girls! Abby, Brenda, and I stopped in to see Misty this morning after basketball and she seemed restless and unable to get comfortable. I got called in around 12:40 this afternoon to work, and I called Justin (he is home alone with Misty while Bill and Shelly are celebrating their 25th anniversary in Hawaii) to check on Misty, but no puppies yet. Well, I stopped in on my way home from work, and Justin stepped out of the garage to let me know that there was already 4 puppies born! We were sure suprised to see that Misty ended up having ELEVEN puppies for her first litter! It was an interesting day in the Balt's garage waiting for puppies to be born!
Here is a picture of all eleven puppies in a pile...

Mom and babies ready to get some rest...
We all got to go visit the puppies tonight, and the kids were there for the last puppy's birth. Abby, especially, is VERY excited that the puppies are finally here!

A Blog Overdue....

Abby and her friend, Brenda, had a lemonade stand last Sunday outside our house. They were supplied with a "change box" from mom with $8 in it, and they ended up with $12 at the end of their endevor. I guess the change box was part of the deal! They were thrilled that they both made $6, and can't wait to sell lemonade again!
Anyone for some fresh lemonade???

Andrew ran in the Barron Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday afternoon--in the mud and rain (although the rain held off during his run). He came in second for the Barron runners and was pretty happy with his performance.

Utter Concentration!

Austin also had an event on Tuesday night in the rain and mud. Barron hosted Hayward in a soccer match. The field was a disaster, and, unfortunately, both the varsity and JV had losses that night. Here is Austin dribbling the ball down the field past a Hayward defender.

Boxing out!

One final bit of news--Jack and Misty are expecting their puppies any day now. I think the official due date is on Sunday, Sept. 23rd. We will keep you posted!

Back to School!!!

Well, it is time for another school year to start, and as you can see, the Klimek family was just as thrilled as can be to begin their school day this morning! I had to work today, so dad was in charge of our "Traditional Poses" with the kids. He did a pretty good job...

Here is the "Before School" picture of all three kids--and Jack the Dog, of course!

Austin has now officially started his Freshman year at BHS! I can't believe he is already starting high school! We always have taken a picture on the first day of school outside of school by the "sign"--Austin was so excited this year to have his sign picture taken! (We cheated--I took him to the school on Monday afternoon when no one was around and the street was deserted to take this picture--even then, he was an unwilling participant...) Austin said he had a good first day of high school, found all of his classes just fine, and he assured Abby that no one stuck him in a garbage can--sounds like a red-letter day to me!

Andrew started his seventh grade year at RVMS today, and declared it to be "boring"--the teachers talked way too much, and all they (the students) did was sit around and listen to classroom rules! He feels pretty comfortable walking the halls of RVMS, as this is his second year there--Jamie and I now have a child at all three schools here in town! I am sure he will have a great year--as long as he keeps his classroom socializing to a minimum! (Andrew's picture was also taken on Monday afternoon--it was the only way I could get cooperation for the "sign picture" from the boys!)

And here is Abby in front of the Woodland sign getting ready to head to her third grade classroom. She was the only one who agreed to have her picture taken on the actual first day of school out in public! Jamie got to walk her to her classroom and she held his hand walking down the hall like she always does. He called me later at work and said he was a little sad thinking about how old/big she is getting, and that this may be the last year she will let her daddy hold her hand walking down the halls in the school... We hope not!

A TRIP DOWN MEMORY LANE..........
