Another Day--Different Office!!

Today marked the opening of the new Marshfield Clinic Rice Lake Center. Why is this significant, you ask? Well, within the clinic, lies the Lakeview Medical Center Outpatient Imaging Center. This is my "new" place of employment. I now work the majority of my work-day hours at this facility, returning to the hospital only for ER and inpatient work.
~~~
It was a crazy day of learning 4 new computer programs, a new phone system, finding our way around a new and complex floor plan, working on 2 new and totally different ultrasound machines, and having a fairly busy patient schedule. I am looking ahead to 2 weeks from now, when, hopefully, this will all just be a distant, painful memory! :-)
~~~
Here is the outside of the new clinic...
There is an article from the Leader Telegram below the pic about the opening.

One last item for the blog tonight...

Prayers are needed for my niece, Heather, her husband, Zac, and their little baby "T" who is 5.5 weeks from his due date. She is in the hospital with a few concerns tonight, and is hoping to come home tomorrow. Please pray that little "T" waits about 3 more weeks before he makes his entrance into the world!!

Basketball, Blades, and Hawiian Beauties!!

Last Friday night, Andrew had a 3-on-3 basketball tournament in Barron. He found out at 5:00 that his buddy, Nick, had signed him up to play, and they started at 6:00! It was the same team they played with last year in the same 3-on-3 tournament. The boys played well, and ended up taking first for the second year in a row in their age group!
~~~
After the tournament, Andrew and his buddy, Macky, escorted their little sisters to an all-night lock-in Hawiian skating party at the rink in Rice Lake! What nice brothers!!!
~~~
Abby and Ahna all dressed up and ready to go party Hawiian-style!
(you received $5 off admission if you were dressed in a Hawiian theme!)

Tim, I am sorry you look like a geek in this picture! I am sure you were quite fashionable for the times???
~~~
Tim has always had new and interesting hair-styles...
~~~

These are my favorite pics of little Timmy...
They were taken right before our wedding
in 1992 in which Tim was a ring-bearer.
He tried on his bow-tie and cumberbund with his diaper, and all of the adults laughed and told him he looked like a Chippendale Dancer. Well, being 3 years old, Timmy thought we were talking about Chip and Dale, Rescue Rangers! He began
singing "Chip and Dale" and dancing around
Grandma Pat's living room in his diaper!

Happy Birthday, Tim! We hope you have a great day!!!

Sharp Dressed Man

Tonight was Barron High School's Junior Prom. Austin, as a freshman, was able to go this year. He and several of his friends decided to go as a group. I acted as the chauffer, although I believe they all have their licenses, except Austin! Jamie borrowed his friend, Tim's, truck for the big event. Tim took three trucks and "merged" them together to build this truck. It was HUGE! It had the desired effect, though, and the boys made their entrance into prom with the windows down and the bass blaring!
~~~
After getting dressed at our house, the guys went to Cumberland to Bona Casa for their "Prom Date" meal. They all made it through the entire meal without spilling spaghetti sauce on their tuxes!!!
~~~
After Bona Casa, we went to Brett's house for photo op's...
Here are the guys with their wheels for the night~

Of course, I thought Austin looked stunning in his tux-

~~~
After prom, I picked the guys up and they changed clothes quickly at the house before reporting back at the school for post prom. Buses will transport the kids to the Soul Garage (at our church in Rice Lake) for the night. The kids can play video games, dodge ball, eat, win prizes, watch movies, play games, and listen to Chris's band, Sweet Action, play throughout the evening. They will be back in Barron at 5:30 am tomorrow morning. Sounds like a fun night!!!
Diggin' D. I. with Daddy
Dad took the second digital camera along to UW Steven's Point to capture Abby's day of State Destination ImagiNation Competition. He said that he, Grandma Pat, Abby, and the rest of the team had a fun day!
~~~
Here is Dad getting Abby set up with her ear plugs before bed Friday night so she wouldn't hear "Limlamb" snoring... I am pretty sure it was Limlamb's snoring she was worried about...~~~
After a good night's sleep, Dad, Grandma, and Abby were off to UW Steven's Point to the BIG DAY of Competition. (After a stop at Perkins for some breakfast!)

The Imaginators Team with Coach Kayla

The kids did a GREAT job on their skit today, and Dad said it was AWESOME! Unfortunately, other teams at the State Competition also did a great job today, and only one could be the top winner. We are proud of our Woodland Elementary Imaginators for doing so wonderfully and for making it to the State Competition! WAY TO GO, IMAGINATORS!!! Keep your eyes open, you may see these kids again next year!
~~~
After competition, the kids could relax and enjoy some of the fun activities on campus for the rest of the day. Here they are admiring some local art!
~~~
Abz got to pet a REAL CROCODILE!!!
YIKES!
~~~
Congratulations, Imaginators, on your great showing at State Competition!
Pre-Competition Party in Plover!
Abby is in Steven's Point today for her team's Destination ImagiNation State Competition. Jamie and Grandma Pat made the journey with her yesterday to Plover (a few miles outside of Steven's Point) to the motel in anticipation of the BIG DAY today. I am home with the boys (more on that later...)
~~~
The whole DI team stayed in the same motel last night, and from the sounds I heard on the cell phone when Jamie called me, they had a great time together! Grandma Pat has her digital camera with her, and she was kind enough to e-mail me some pics this morning!
~~~
Here is Abby with some of the team members at the pool last night...~~~
Jumping in the pool!
Abby, Rece, Megan, Brandon, and Brooke
~~~
Abby called me this morning to let me know that Dad snuggled her stuffed sheep, "Limlamb", all night last night--she thought that was so funny! Imagine my suprise when I opened my e-mail and found Grandma Pat had captured it on film!!! You can see Limlamb peeking out from under Jamie's arm!
Jamie and Abby took a fan and some ear plugs along to cover up the loud snoring that Limlamb is famous for. At least, I think it was Limlamb... Jamie said he didn't use his earplugs, but Abby did--she said they worked GREAT!!! She snuggled her new stuffed animal, "Pinky Pie" the Pig, that she got in honor of their DI skit, "Goldilocks and the Three Pigs".
~~~
I am at home with the boys this weekend, much to Andrew's disgust! He thought I was going along to Steven's Point and leaving them home alone!!! :-) Tonight is Barron's Junior Prom, and Austin is going with a bunch of friends. Jamie made arrangements with a friend of his to borrow a truck for the boys to ride to prom in. I believe I will be driving them, unless that is just "too uncool". In that case, Jamie's friend, Squeek, will drive the guys. I drove this beast home from Eau Claire last night--boy, did I get the looks!!!
I will take prom pics tonight of the guys in their tuxes, and I will let you know how Abby's team did in their competition... Check back tomorrow for another post!!!!
Showering Baby "T"
Sunday afternoon, the women that were in town for HIT weekend had a baby shower for Heather and Baby "T". Unfortunately, I was at Sheila's house sleeping off a migraine and I missed the fun event and didn't take any pictures. :-(
~~~
Sheri hosted the shower at her house, and Grandma Kay and Kari and Kayla provided some desserts after everyone munched on pizza.
~~~
Heather was kind enough to unload all of her gifts to show me after the shower. Here is the pile of "loot" Baby "T" received today at his party! ~~~
Little "T" is due to arrive on June 5th, but we are hoping he comes a few weeks early so we can all fight over who gets to hold him when we are all in Fergus again for Tim's graduation the weekend of May 24th! If you would like to check Baby "T"s progress, check out Heather and Zac's blog by clicking on their link to the right of the screen...
~~~
Here is the first line of a poem that Abby, Morgan, Emily, and I wrote for Baby "T"s shower:
"H" is for Heather,
Zac starts with "Z".
Soon will come baby,
a boy they'll call "T".
~~~
Congratulations, Heather and Zac!
A Bridge From Normal
Saturday night, Austin, Andrew, Abby, and I, along with several other family memebers, were fortunate to get to hear Tim's band, A BRIDGE FROM NORMAL, play a concert. They were playing a benefit concert for a girl from Fergus that is going on a mission trip to Mexico. The band was AWESOME!!!! I couldn't believe how great they sounded--they rocked so hard, that they blew a fuse in the building!!!
~~~
I took a few pictures of the band members--here is Tim jammin' out on his guitar.
~~~
Nick and Tim head bangin' as they rock!
~~~

Tim and "Lewison" rippin' up the stage...~~~

Peter and his base pedal were on fire!~~~

We all had a great time at the concert, and I was really proud of the guys! They are really a talented group, and they are using their musical gifts as a ministry to Christ.

~~~
Rock On, ABFN!!!
HIT Weekend
HIT's (Hillcrest Invitational Tournaments) were held this weekend in Fergus Falls, MN. Austin, Andrew, Abby, and I made the trip on Friday morning thru rain and snow to Fergus to take part in the festivities again this year. We had planned to leave on Thursday night, but due to the horrible snowstorm that rocked the midwest, we stayed home and left late-morning to travel when it was light outside. Jamie had to work, so he was unable to come along. :-(
~~~
I tried to take pictures of all of our players, but, as usual, I got too "into" the games, and often forgot to use the camera I was holding in my hands!!!
Once again, our combined families had two teams in the tournaments, Generation Gap I and Generation Gap II. Gap I played 3 games. Their final record was 2 and 1, and they left the tournament with a THIRD PLACE plaque!!!
~~~
Here is Austin burning the defender as he drives for the basket... ~~~~
Andrew flies by his defender and goes in for the layup!
Grandpa Denny fires one up from three point land! He made another three-pointer this year at the young age of 64. He is the senior end of our "Generation Gap"... ~~~
Brittany goes in for the layup--she keeps a smile on her face, even as she is getting FOULED!! ~~~
Trent dominated inside! Here he is going up strong for 2 points!
~~~
Todd was "gold" from the three point line.
(He claims he closed his eyes and threw it up...)

Generation Gap II finished with a record of 2 and 2 this weekend in the Division 2 bracket. They had some tough competition and played really well! It was a fun weekend of basketball and family, and the kids are already talking about next year's HIT's!
