Introducing... Princess Diamond Sophia

Little Sophie the Puppy has had two "home visits" with us so far now--one this weekend for a few hours, and one last weekend for a few hours. She will be coming home to stay at the end of this week after she gets her shots and her first vet visit. Today, Jamie and the boys went to Nelson to set up hunting blinds and do some squirrel hunting (no, they didn't shoot any squirrels!), so Abby wanted Sophie to come so she could have her all to herself! We took Sophie to Wal-mart and Abby picked out this royal cape for Soph that has "Princess" embroidered on the back of it. Sophie also got this new toy you see in the picture...
Sophie was quite tolerant of having to wear her cape today, and was a good sport about being held constantly! I hope she gets used to it, as poor Jack also spends a lot of time being dressed up (Cheerleader, Viking football player, princess, vampire, witch, gangster, and the list goes on!)!

Isn't she pretty?

Here is Sophie napping on the floor. Jack didn't voluntarily get too close to her all day long, but he did lay down by her while she slept as long as I was petting him. He sniffed her a lot, but still isn't too pleased with her being around! If you look closely, you will note the dark spots on the carpet infront of Jack--those are his drool spots! YUCK!

Abby and Sophie--she sure is excited about this puppy!

Halloween Fun

The three kids all went out trick-or-treating this year with friends, and, for the very first time, I was left home alone and was able to greet trick-or-treaters here at our house! Of course, Jack helped me out with that... Abby dressed him up as a lovely princess, but he didn't seem to keep the outfit on long enough for a photo op.
Here is Andrew and his friends before they left to go haunt the town... Andrew was dressed as some kind of fairy princess--he had on a Cinderella dress with fairy wings. He was very pretty.
Abby and Bailey were pirates!

Abby and her friends at their school halloween party...
Austin didn't really "dress up"--he put on a pair of sunglasses and said he was a gangster. Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of his award-winning costume, either. :-(

Soccer Letter

Austin's soccer season is officially over, as the team held their soccer banquet last week. Austin received a JV Soccer Letter--here is a picture of him receiving his "letter" from his coach, Gavin. Gavin came from Trinidad to coach the team this year, and is in a hurry to get back before the snow flies! The kids no longer get an actual letter "B", but a certificate that they can trade in for the letter if, and when, they order a letterman jacket. Things sure have changed in the FEW YEARS since Jamie and I have been in school! :-)Here is a picture of the 2007 Soccer team...
It was a fun season, and I am sure Austin will go out again next year. He will be missing his good friend, Shay, as he is a senior this year and will be graduating. I, for one, enjoyed watching the boys play, but I feel I have now earned the right to the nice long basketball season in a warm, DRY climate-controlled gym!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa "Green Sweats"!!!!!

Happy Birthday, Grandpa Denny, on Sunday, October 28th!!! The kids say "Happy Birthday, Green Sweats!" We dug thru the archives for this picture of you from HIT's 2007 shooting your big 3-pointer--even though you didn't have on your green sweats, it is a picture that will go down in the history books! Hope you are having a good time with all of the retired mailmen!love, the Klimies

The Pumpkin Patch Thru the Years!

On Saturday, we made our annual trip to Mommsen's Pumpkin Patch in Rice Lake. Chad, Nicole, Carter, Bradley were there with us, as usual, as well as, Grandma Deb and Grandpa Ken this year. It was a nice day at the Pumpkin Patch, and we all had fun--even the big boys, although they probably wouldn't admit it if you asked them! Here are some pictures of the Klimie Kids over the years at the pumpkin patch in the produce truck... The pics start in 1998--when we had 3 heads to fill the holes in the back of the truck!!! Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!!!!

And the Hammer Pounds On....

Here are the requested photos of our construction project... As you can see, we have a big mess right now in our yard, but Bill (gray shirt) and his builder buddy were hard at work today shingling the roof of our new kitchen. The window isn't cut into the addition yet, but it will be on the back side of the house.

We are looking forward to the day when it is ALL DONE!

Pirates and Puppies

Abby had her third grade Halloween program on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at the BACC. She dressed in her Halloween costume of a "Pretty Pirate"--although she has lost her eyepatch! The third grade class put on an awesome show for their friends and families! Here is Abby (and Sarah and Zack) singing...
Abby and Kristin sang a DUET!!! They had a few lines that they sang together as a duet, and they sounded wonderful! They were supposed to sing as a trio, but, unfortunately, Brenda got sick about an hour before the program and had to go home. :-(

Abby with her "Monster Eyes"!!!!

Andrew finally got to go visit the puppies, as he has missed the last few visits. Here he is snuggling a sweet little Golden Retriever. The puppies will be ready for their new homes on Saturday, November 10th. The kids are very excited to bring home their new puppy, but we have yet to decide which one will be coming home. Jamie wants to go visit them soon to make our final decision. Will it be a boy or a girl??? If Abby has her way, she will be getting a "sister" dog!!!

Soccer and Basketball

Andrew had his first game of Seventh Grade School Basketball tonight. Barron played Cumberland at Cumberland. I am thrilled to say that our team won with a score of 54 to 32!!! Andrew played great--he is the point guard, and he does an awesome job of seeing the whole floor and making great passes! Here he is driving down the court...
I didn't have my camera set to the "sports setting" tonight, so I got a bit blurry with some of the shots. :-( Here is Andrew making a drive to the basket--he scored 2 on this one!!!!

Andrew directing his teammates at the point position...

I wrote about Austin's BIG VARSITY GOAL in my previous post on Tuesday, October, 16th. In this week's Barron News Shield, there was a brief write-up on the soccer team, and it mentioned Austin's goal, as it was the only goal scored by Barron in the game that night in our loss to Chippewa Falls McDonnell. I took a picture of the quote from the soccer coach that appeared in the paper...
Even though they got the spelling wrong, we were thrilled that Austin's big goal made the paper! Way to go, Austin!

Happy Birthday, Grandma Debbie!!!

Happy Birthday, Grandma Deb! Grandma celebrated her birthday on Wednesday, October 24th--we are a day late with our blog post, but we did get her late on the phone last night on her way back from the casino from her birthday celebration to wish her happy birthday!
Here is Grandma Deb on Austin's birthday...3-14-1993!
Grandma Deb with Andrew on his birthday...5-16-1995!

Happy Birthday, Grandma Deb!!! We love you!!!!

Soccer, Mud, and Puppies

Austin traveled to Washburn, WI on Lake Superior on Thursday for the Regional soccer game against Washburn. Washburn scored the first 2 goals, but Barron came back and scored 2 goals, also! Unfortunately, as Barron had great momentum going, the lightning started up. The game was called, as you can't play again until 30 minutes has passed since the last lightning strike, and it just kept lightning (and pouring rain)! So, the boys rode the 2.5 hours back home. They had to go back to Washburn today to finish the game--another 2.5 hour drive there, and 2.5 hours back to play soccer in the rain! We were tied at 5 to 5 at the end of the game, and the game went into double overtime! After two overtimes, it came down to shootouts--Washburn won, 3 to 2. :-( Austin's Freshman soccer season is now over... We are now looking forward to all 3 kids playing basketball in a nice warm, DRY gym! Abby is playing both in the Rice Lake League (done early November), and in the Barron Basketball League. Andrew just started practice for school basketball, and will begin traveling basketball a bit later.
Today, in our swimming pool--ooops, I meant our new basement addition, some guys came to cut the hole in the old basement wall to walk into the new part of the basement. Boy, was that a MESS!! Those poor guys had to stand out in the rain in the bottom of the basement (we have walls poured, but no floor yet) in a huge mud puddle! When they were done, Bill, our contractor, came over and patched up the hole with plywood and caulked the cracks. Hopefully we won't have any little furry visitors coming in to hibernate! :-)

Here is our lovely hole--Austin took a picture for me to post so everyone could enjoy it...

On our way back from Washburn on Thursday night, Jamie, Austin, Abby, and I stopped to see the puppies. They are getting so big, and they are so cute! They play a lot now with each other, and they like to play with people, too. When we would put our hands in their box, they would come running to our hands. We have decided that the kids do get to have a puppy--of course, they are VERY excited! We are leaning toward a girl puppy, but Jamie really likes one with a little white "bib", and that one is a boy, so we will see how that turns out...

"Hi, Mom!!!"

Sweet puppy face!

Nibbling on brother's ears!

A wrestling free-for-all!

Hey, let me out of here!

Austin found a sweet one to snuggle..

This little puppy must have found some McChicken leftovers on Abby's cheek!

It tickles!!!!

Could this be the new puppy for the Klimek's? Take note of the little purple collar on the puppy--we have that to put on our choice puppy while it still needs to stay with Misty so we can tell which one we pick out. We brought the collar back home last night, as we still think it is too early to pick that special one out yet...

A pile of puppies~

Isn't she cute???

Fat little belly...

more wrestling!

"Laid back!"
