15 Years of Wedded Bliss!

Today is our 15 year anniversary. Jamie arranged for all five of us to go on a dinner cruise on the St. Croix River on the Taylor's Falls Princess Paddle Boat tonight. We had a lot of fun! We did some mini-golfing before the cruise, did some rock-climbing and exploring of the "cliffs" around the river, and then boarded the boat for our 2 hour cruise down and back up the river.
Here is a flashback to the early nineties!!!

An Unexpected Day Off

Jamie had an unexpected day off today when he got a phone call early this morning to let him know that the Waste Research and Reclamation Plant across the highway from Prestige Auto was on fire. The highway was closed and everyone in a 3/4 mile radius was evacuated--that included all those at Prestige. Jamie went golfing instead today! We don't think there were any "injuries" to the cars at Prestige, but there was one "fatality" at Eau Claire Ford when an explosion sent flames flying over to a vehicle there and started it on fire. Thankfully, no humans have been hurt in the blaze.

Rainy Afternoon Entertainment

Today was a lazy morning here at the Klimek House, as we tried to catch up on some much-needed rest after our big wedding weekend. The afternoon brought some rain showers and thunderstorms to our area, and also brought some Rainy Day Entertainment for some dorky boys at the Klimek house. Check out the drowned rats in their boxers on the trampoline...

We made our trip to Fergus Falls, MN this weekend for the wedding of my niece, Heather, and her fiance, Zac. The wedding day (Saturday, June 16, 2007) was a beautiful, sunny day. A great day to get married and head out to the water park afterward for some wedding day fun!

Jack loves Misty

Jack and Misty finally got to meet each other at the baseball tournament this weekend. They spent a lot of time sniffing and licking each other. Jack especially liked Misty...

Here is the happy couple!

(Abz wanted to share this picture with everyone!)

Sports of All Sorts

Here is a shot of Austin connecting with the ball. Another picture shows him getting ready to steal to second base. Austin is a great "stealer"--he loves to tease the pitcher by leading off base and distracting the next pitch. Austin's team also lost their game tonight. They played the other Barron team. It is always a bummer when you have to play your friends and classmates.

Andrew has been pitching lately. He pitched in the tournament on Saturday--Barron took first place in the tournament!! He also pitched in their game on Monday night. Unfortunately, Barron Maroon has had a bad week--they lost both their game on Monday night against Ridgeland, and their game tonight against Clayton. Bummer! Next up--game Monday night against Barron Gold.

Saturday was Abby's last day of soccer for the year. She played hard again, but it was the Green Dragon's first loss of the season!
Austin also had his last soccer game of the season in Cumberland. They also lost 1 to 0. I wasn't able to go to that game, but Grandpa Ken and Grandma Deb took Austin and they were able to see their first soccer game! Thanks grandma and grandpa!

The Camera is FINALLY Connected!!!!

I have been struggling for about a week to get my camera to communicate with my computer so I could put some new pics on the blog. Here are some photos of little Allie's visit to the Klimies. We enjoyed having her, even though she would have enjoyed her visit more if she would have been feeling herself--poor little sweetie!

Allie and Jack were best buds while Allie was visiting. Here, Allie wasn't happy that Jack wasn't giving her his undivided attention!!! (plus, she was feeling sick with what we later discovered was strep throat! Poor little peanut!) Allie found the container of doggie treats, and Jack found a new best friend for the night! Allie happily fed the dog one after another until Uncle Jamie told Allie no more treats for the doggie. Well, Allie quietly crept around the corner with the treats, with Jack at her heels, and she and Jack finished off the rest of the treats! It was so cute, we couldn't stop her!

Allie had some boogie problems when she started getting sick... (you know I would think this was funny! you should have saw her face when she pulled something icky out--the look of disgust was priceless!)

Allie napping at the baseball tournaments...

We had a fun Saturday with little Allie. She was a VERY good girl at Andrew's
baseball tournaments. We hope she was having fun before she started feeling sick! She enjoyed some hotdogs...

We hope Allie can come again to play--she was the center of the household for the weekend! It was fun to have her running thru the house and entertaining all of us! Thanks, Jeremy and Kara!

Another Victory for Barron Maroon!

Andrew's baseball team had another game tonight in Chetek. We thought that we were going to get rained/stormed out for a while, as the sky was very dark, and the wind was blowing the dirt off the infield into my eyes! But, we sat thru the blowing and the eventual rain, and it finally blew over and the evening was quite nice--but chilly! Andrew was able to pitch again tonight and did another great job on the mound. He also had 3 great hits tonight. Barron Maroon won 12 to 2--we were able to stop the game early since we won by the "10 run rule".

Abby had her piano recital yesterday afternoon. She looked so sweet in her Easter dress with her hair nicely combed--not her usual scraggly self! I will post pictures soon--I didn't have my digital camera along, so I will have to wait to get the film developed from my 35 mm. She did a wonderful job with her song, Leap Frog. I think she was the best out of all of the beginner players! And I'm not just saying that! :-)

Tomorrow, Andrew has his sixth grade class trip to a water park in Duluth for the day. He is looking forward to getting out of the school for the day and hanging out with the "gang". I am sure they will have a good time.

Austin is also getting out of class tomorrow, as our varsity baseball team is playing in the sectionals in Cumberland tomorrow. The student senate has declared tomorrow "Spirit Day", and the school is taking a bunch of bus loads of students to the game. I am sure they will all have fun, and the baseball team will have a ton of support with most of the high school and middle school there to watch the game! If we win both of our games tomorrow, Barron will go to state again...

It is a busy week for the kids (and the parents) as school is winding down. Austin has his class field trip Wednesday to Valleyfair, Abby has a pajama party on Wednesday and soccer Wednesday evening, Wednesday is my last day of tutoring. Thursday, both boys have baseball games, Thursday is the last day of school with early release. Friday, Andrew has a baseball game as part of the Barron Tournament. Jeremy, Kara, and Allie are coming to visit on Friday night, also. Saturday, Abby has her last soccer in Barron, Austin has his last soccer in Cumberland, and Andrew has a baseball tournament in Barron. Allie is going to hang out with us for the day/night on Saturday while mom and dad go to a wedding in Eau Claire. It is also the Barron Fest this weekend with rides and a parade on Sunday--plenty to do for the weekend! I hope the weather cooperates! :-)

Well, I hope to have pictures for the next post. That's all for now!

Saturday

Austin after a huge kick....

Abby just kicked the ball up the field....

Andrew winding up for the pitch....

Another day on the run here in Barron! Austin had his 2 soccer meets today in Barron. They tied the first game, 0 to 0. The second game also ended in a tie, with a score of 1 to 1! The other team in the second game didn't have enough players, so four of our team players had to play for the other team so they had enough to scrimmage. I wonder if that really counts as a win for Barron then...

Abby also had soccer this morning. She played really well, up until the play when she got the ball right to the eye! That did not make her happy! She sat out for just a bit, and then was right back in there battling for the ball. Her team won their game--she told me that her team ALWAYS wins!

Andrew had his baseball tournament in Grantsburg today. They lost their first game, 2 to 4 against Grantsburg 1. By the time I got there with my friends, Linda and Kelli, they were tied 2 to 2, and then they ended up losing. I guess Linda, Kelli, and I should have come just a bit later! Maybe we were bad luck! :-) The boys went on to win their next 2 games of the day. They beat Grantsburg 2 by a score of 5 to 2, and they beat Osceola 14 to 0. Andrew got to pitch in the game against Osceola for 2 1/2 innings. In the second inning, he threw seven strikes out of seven pitches--3 up, 3 down! He did very well with his pitching!
