Soccer Updates

I have been putting our soccer updates on my other blog...
Hop on over there to see pictures like this...
Both of my boys, together, on the same field!
~~~
I am trying to take a few pictures for our newspaper here in town, The Barron NewsShield, so I thought it would just be easier to post my pics on my sports blog and let the editor pick which photos he wanted to run for the week.
The 'Raining Suit' Says "MEOW"!
This sweet little girl turned FOUR last week. For her birthday, she got this spiffy new raincoat, or as Allie Marie says, her "Raining Suit"!~~~
How cute is she?!?
~~~
When Allie came to stay overnight at Grandma Pat's house, she brought her Raining Suit--complete with matching rain boots! She was thrilled to find a puddle from the rain the night before that she could try out her new Raining Suit in...
~~~
~~~
~~~
~~~
Of course, her little kitty boots were perfect "splashers" in the puddle...
~~~
~~~
Don't you just want to pinch her?!?
~~~
And I will end out this post with a completely random photo of Allie's dog, Etnie.
I'd like to say she is cute, but mom always said, if you can't say anything nice...
~Sorry, Fyllings!~
Missing Uncle Woody...
Uncle Woody came to visit Wisconsin last week.
He was able to stay for a WHOLE WEEK!!!
~~~

Uncle Wood flew back to Florida last Wednesday.

We miss him.
~~~
The Klimies were happy to have Woody as a houseguest for a couple of days...
It was GREAT to have Uncle visiting us!~~~
We had a family game night and played this rousing game...
(one of my personal favorites!)
Abby, Woody, and Grandma Pat made up one team.
(Austin is monitoring for cheating...)~~~
Deep in thought...~~~
Jamie, Grandpa Denny, and I made another team.
(Even though I had the two handicaps, our team ended as the VICTORS!)~~~
The boys had their own team (and took second place).~~~
The Cranium Clay was fun to play with--even when you didn't have a Sculpturade!~~~
We had fun seeing Uncle Woody for the week, and we sure wish he and Tia Maite could live in Wisconsin year-around! (hint, hint!)
It is always a good time when Woody is around!Miss you, Uncle!
It's Soccer Season, Baby!
It is officially soccer season in Barron!
~~~
Austin and Andrew are in the full swing of soccer, and in addition to daily practices, have already played a scrimmage and a game.
~~~
We have had two exciting developments this year in soccer:
1. Austin has been named a co-captain of the team! We are so proud of him for this accomplishment, as he is only a junior. Austin was chosen by his coach for this honor, not only for his skill on the field, but also for his character and leadership abilities.
Congratulations, Austin!
2. Andrew was able to start in his first varsity game as a FRESHMAN! Granted, this may have been because three of our usual starters were missing the night of the game, but Andrew did an awesome job and really showed his coach that he could "run with the big dogs"!
~~~
This year marks the first year that both brothers have played on the same team, on the same field, in the same town, at the same time! Jamie and I are thrilled that the boys are teammates this year!
~~~
Here are the brothers, waiting to check into the game at last Saturday's soccer scrimmage...
~~~
The Barron Bear Soccer Team has already had a scrimmage last Saturday, and their first game last Tuesday. Of course, I took a few pictures to commemorate the day...
~~~
Austin taking aim toward the goal.
~~~
Austin passing the ball down-field to a teammate.
~~~
Andrew dribbling up the field.
~~~
Andrew working it through the defense.
~~~
Tuesday's game against New Richmond ended with the score rather lop-sided. As I mentioned before, three of our usual starters were missing from the game, but our boys that did show up played hard. The final score need not be mentioned here--it is MY blog, after all! (although I believe there was a 0 and an 8 in there somewhere.) In any event, it was a BEAUTIFUL evening for a soccer game! Austin and Andrew were fortunate to have three extra fans in New Richmond. Grandma Pat, Grandpa Denny, and Uncle Woody were there to watch their first game of the season! Thanks for coming, everyone!
~~~
Here is Austin moving the ball up the field...
~~~
Andrew dribbling the ball thru some defenders...
~~~
Thursday's game against Amery was cancelled due to the torrential rains we received here in Barron all day. The next showing for the Barron Bears Soccer will be next Tuesday in Baldwin-Woodville.

Technical Difficulties....

It seems I have exceeded my photo limit on blogger! I can no longer upload photos to my blog because I have "exceeded my total upload quota". So, until I can figure out how to purchase more storage space on Picasa/Blogger for my photos, my hands are tied for my blog posts....

A Day on the Green

Today was d-day.
~~~
I made my golfing debut.
~~~
It was a painful experience. Painful for everyone involved. I really stunk up the course could use some added instruction, and that is putting it mildly! It did lightly rain the whole time we were out there--perhaps I can blame my poor performance on that???
~~~
On a positive note, it was fun watching the kids and Jamie get their golf groove on.
~~~
Here is Abz lining up her swing...
~~~
Andrew tee-ing off... ~~~
Austin at the tee box...
~~~
Poor, uncoordinated me trying like crazy to make contact with that stupid, white ball...
~~~
Jamie sending the ball for a ride...
In just over an hour and a half, we completed four holes. No score was kept (thank goodness!), and after that much pain and suffering, we decided to head for home.
~~~
This day was a warm-up for me to golf on Friday afternoon with our "gang" of friends. I think it is a safe bet to say that I will be the worst golfer on the course that night! Fortunately, we are playing a Best Ball Scramble, so pray I get put on a team with a stellar golfer--I am going to need it!

Rock Fest, Nintendo Style

Many famous headliners made appearances at Rock Fest this year in Cadott, WI.
Journey, Judas Priest, Shinedown, Korn, Buckcherry, Steve Miller Band, Sheryl Crow, and Barenaked Ladies, to name a few.
~~~
But, one of the best kept secrets of Rock Fest 2009, was the Guest Appearance of Mario (as in Mario of the Nintendo Mega-Hit, Super Mario Brothers)
I was fortunate enough to have a Mario Sighting as he was rocking out to Judas Priest, and I had my camera ready...
~~~
I thought he looked taller in real life...
Rock on, Mario!
