Happy Birthday, Bradley James!

Happy Birthday to this sweet FOUR year old boy!
Bradley James turned four today, on Christmas Eve--
a special birthday for a special boy...
~~~
We were able to celebrate a bit early with Bradley last weekend.
Here is Bradley with his cake!
~~~

Blowin' out the candles!~~~

Happy Birthday to a Fabulous Four-Year-Old!
We love you!

It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas--Finally!

Well, it is finally starting to feel like Christmas around the Klimek house--and not a moment too soon! According to this little guy, we are down to the wire! Only one more day until Christmas!
Abby faithfully keeps our Christmas Countdown up-to-date every year on our little Christmas Moose chalkboard!
~~~
Lately, life has been running away with me, and I have been hanging on for dear life! I am thrilled to say that I have taken some vacation days from work, there are no basketball games for the boys (although they still have practices), and we have scheduled no basketball practices for Abby over Christmas break.
What that all means is--the Klimek Family is going to enjoy Christmas by relaxing together and cherishing our gift of family time! I am so excited!
~~~
As we "burrow" into our snug home to get ready to celebrate Christmas, we are enjoying the pretty seasonal decorations...
The candles are lit and filling the air with their yummy scents.

~~~
My Precious Moment's Nativity set (a gift from my mother-in-law 15 years ago for Christmas) makes it's yearly trek from the curio cabinet and onto the fireplace mantle to remind us all of the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of Jesus...
~~~

I love sitting on the couch with all of the lights off in the room and gazing at the Christmas tree with all of the twinkling white lights while the Christmas Carols are playing softly in the background!~~~
Our family stockings (new this year--a clearance item from JCPenney!) are hung by the chimmney with care...And we are in the beginning stages of a snowstorm that is supposed to be moving through the area for the next 2-3 days. Total snow accumulation is predicted to be anywhere from 15 to 20 inches, but I will believe that when I see it!

In any event, I selfishly feel so peaceful knowing that we don't need to go anywhere over the next few days and can just hunker down here in our warm, cozy house together as our family of five--and two stinky dogs.
~~~
These are the poinsettias out on my front porch tonight--good thing they are fake!
~~~
Here is the view across the street--I am standing on my front porch looking at the neighbor's house... ~~~
And another view, looking at the streetlight...Yep, it is beginning to look alot like Christmas!

~~~
Safe travels to all of you who will be driving in the next few days, and Merry Christmas to you all!
Bears and Beavers and Basketball - Oh, My!
Our Barron Bears traveled to Cumberland on Tuesday night to challenge the Cumberland Beavers on the hardwood. Andrew and his C-Team had a slow start to their game--the snowy weather must have had them feeling like hibernating! :-)
~~~
Andrew scored six points in the game, and he drained a three-pointer that was more like a NBA three! He had some great assists, doing what he does best at the point guard position.
~~~
Check out some pics of Andrew doing his thing...
Working through the man-to-man press.
~~~
Beating his defender!
~~~
On the line--and yes, he did sink this free-throw!
Our C-Team Boys won their game 48 to 39.
~~~
Next, we headed into the other gym for the varsity game.
Austin played well against the Beavers--he had no trouble breaking through their press at the point position. Here are some photos of him bringing it to Cumberland...
~~~
Burning past his defender.
~~~
Throwing up a three that was nothin' but net!
~~~
Facing the challenge of the defense...
~~~
Austin had a total of 12 points for the night to add to the Bears total score of 67 to Cumberland's 37. A great way for the Golden Bears to start out their first conference game of the season!
~~~
Here are the stats that were in the Leader Telegram today:
barron 67, cumberland 37
Barron - Austin Klimek 12, P.J. Romsos 2, Eric Holten 14, Spencer Johnson 1, David Kaus 2, Austin Augustine 2, Lee Klotz 6, Kyle Rose 26, Mitch Checkelski 2. Totals (FGM FT-FTA TP): 24 16-20 67.
Cumberland - Sam Larson 2, Adam Beilmeyer 2, Sam Clark 14, Graham Miller 3, Brady Rose 10, Vaughn Waite 2, Joe Wistrcill 4. Totals: 12 11-19 37.
Barron 18 8 22 19 - 67
Cumberland 8 2 9 18 - 37
3-point goals: Barron 3 (Klimek 1, Holton 2), Cumberland 2 (Miller 1, Rose 1). Total fouls: Barron 16, Cumberland 14. Records: Barron 1-2; Cumberland 0-2.
Trimming the Tree
Tonight, the Klimie Kids decorated their "Kid's Tree". Every year, the kids have their own Christmas tree that they decorate with their own ornaments that they get every year. Each ornament has a memory attached, and decorating the tree is like a trip down memory lane.
~~~
Here are the kids with their finished masterpiece...
~~~
Jack and Sophie also got into the Holiday Spirit--much to their disgust.
~~~
A little bit of holiday editing fun...
Merry Christmas Season from the Klimeks!

The Mighty Hunters!

On Saturday afternoon, Grandpa Ken and Abby went out to Jason's land to join the guys for some hunting. Abby and Grandpa were graciously given the "Valley Stand" to hunt in (thanks, Logan).
~~~
Grandpa, who hasn't deer hunted in over 20 years, was on a mission. He was going to shoot a deer and use his tag.
~~~
Well, Abby has quite the story to tell about her hunting experience, but to make a long story short, grandpa ended up shooting not one, but TWO antlerless deer! Abby got to experience it all--the hunt, the shooting, finishing off a wounded deer, and the field-dressing! She and grandpa were pretty excited!
~~~
Here are some pictures of the Mighty Hunters and their kill...
~~~
Abz was kinda grossed out by the blood on "her" deer's ear!~~~
A night to be remembered by these two for a long, long time!
Thanks, Jason, for making this experience possible for Abby and Grandpa!

Dog Days

Jack and Sophie had some spectacular days--
they got to go to grandma and grandpa's house in Indee instead of going to the Holidog Inn, as they usually do when the fam goes out of town.
~~~
On Friday, after I hit the stores in Rice Lake at 4:30 am for some Black Friday shopping, Jamie took off work early so he and the boys could do some hunting Friday evening in Indee. The whole family piled into the Trailblazer for the two hour trip. The dogs started out in the "way-back" of the vehicle, but with about 15 miles left of our journey, the kids coaxed them up into the back seat! When I turned around, this is what I saw...
Sophie laying on Austin's lap!
~~~
Jack sprawled himself across Abby and Andrew...
~~~
No one seemed to mind those big, hairy bodies taking up all of of the room in the back seat--all I could smell was dog breath up in the front seat--ewwww!
~~~
Abby, Jack, Sophie, and I dropped Jamie and the boys off at Jason's house for some hunting, and then we went on into Indee to stay at Grandma Deb and Grandpa Ken's house. Two of our favorite little guys were staying at grandma and grandpa's house, too!
Bradley brought his Indiana Jones costume to show us...
~~~
Abby took this stunning picture of Carter giving Toby the "bunny ears"!
We had a fun time with the cousins, and Jack and Sophie had fun playing with Toby! Jack and Sophie were spoiled at grandma and grandpa's house--even slept in bed with Abby and I--and they can't wait to go back. Grandpa's cat, on the other hand, could care less if they NEVER come back! Sorry, Cat!
Thankful for Babies
On Thanksgiving Day, we were once again able to enjoy time with family at Aunt LaNita and Uncle Bill's home. While we were there, we had the opportuntity to see the newest members of our extended family:
Little Miss A...
~~~
and Little Mr. B...
~~~
Of course, I took the time to hold them, squeeze them, and pinch them (just a little)--
I am thankful for babies!
:-)
Snack Supper and a Movie!
The Wednesday night before Thanksgiving, we had an old Klimek Family favorite--Snack Supper and a Movie night, in honor of Thanksgiving.
~~~
The kids love Snack Supper, and often ask for it. However, it is somewhat time-consuming to make, and I don't always have all of the ingredients on hand, so when we have Snack Supper, it is viewed as a special event around here! :-)
~~~
Abby gathered the champagne glasses for us to enjoy our drinks...
~~~
Our Snack Supper Feast consisted of:

Cheezy-Mexican Beef dip with chips...~~~
Cucumber Cocktail Bread and Ham and Pickle Rolls...~~~
And what is a Snack Supper without Lil' Smokies smothered in Famous Dave's BBQ sauce?!?!~~~
Abby and Austin ran to the grocery store for some Cold Duck Champagne to top off the meal...~~~
I, of course, enjoyed my old favorite...~~~
Our icy-cold beverages....~~~
Once our plates were filled, we headed into the TV room to enjoy a movie together...~~~
Cheers! To a fun-filled family Snack Supper night!We are thankful for family!

When Dad's Away....

...Sophie claims his spot on the couch!
~~~
She makes it her own!
~~~
And Jack is stuck on the floor...
~~~
Just mom and the dogs this weekend while the rest of the fam is in Indee looking for the "thirty-pointer".
Happy Birthday, Jamie!!!
Happy Birthday, Jamie!
~~~

Today, we celebrated Jamie's thirty-something birthday--in-between all of the other activities of an average weekday.

Jamie and the boys took a trip to Green Bay yesterday for some early birthday activities to take in the Packer/Cowboy game at Lambeau Field. While the guys were out of town, Abby and I snuck into Prestige Auto and planted 20 helium balloons around Jamie's office and showroom to surprise him when he showed up for work today! When he finally realized that the balloons, birthday banners, and candy goodies were from his family and NOT the guys he works with, he enjoyed his personalized birthday greetings! I was able to take Jamie out for lunch today, and then we had birthday cake and some presents tonight in between basketball practices.

~~~
Here is the birthday boy with his cake and some of the balloons that made it home from his office...~~~
Not TOO old to blow out a few "trick" candles!
~~~
Dad and his kids...
Happy Birthday, Dad!
We love you!
