The End of an Era...

On Thursday, December 9th,
Austin played what turned out to be his last
basketball game as a Barron Golden Bear.
 ~~~
After putting up with repeated mind games and cruelty from his coach for several years,
the recent mis-treatment of Austin by his coach after the death of little Carter
was the straw that broke the camel's back.
 ~~~
Austin was the best player and the player with the most hustle on this year's team.
He was the only returning starter to this year's team, and was a leader on the court.
~~~
Austin acted as more of a man than the "man" that has been hired to lead this team.
We are so proud of him, and, although I am extremely sad to see his season end,
we support him in his choice.
~~~
In true Klimek/Davis fashion, Austin went out with a "bang" from his last game of the year.
Number 10 fouled out with 1:05 left in the game--once again, diving and scrambling for a loose ball.
~~~
We are proud of you,
Austin!
love,
Mom and Dad
I am sorry to hear this. There are all kinds of injustices in this world but the worst kinds are those against our kids.
We love you, Austin!
I missed watching you play tonight Austin - you seem happy with your decision so if you are comfortable with the decision - well, so am I. Love you lots whether you play basketball or not.
I got behind in checking blogs during the Christmas rush and was so very sorry to hear about Austin's BB woes. That is so heart-breaking. Rog, too, was very upset that a coach could be like that instead of nurturing his players. Trent could totally relate. Please know, Autin, that we support you and know how talented you are. Besides that, you are like family to us and we love you!
