A Party for Gram

We had our "Going Away" party for Grandma Bonnie on Mother's Day 2010, Sunday night, May 9th with a Visitation for all of her family and friends.
~~~
Gram would have been so proud and pleased with how beautiful everything was in her honor! Her casket was pristine white with delicate pink roses surrounded in gold. If Gram could have picked out her own casket, this is the one she would have picked! It was perfect for her, and lined with soft, pink satin for her final resting place. ~~~
The flowers that were there for Gram were absolutely gorgeous! I once gave Gram a bouquet of roses for her birthday, and she exclaimed over and over about those roses and how much she loved them and how "beeeutiful" they were and how pretty they smelled--well, I know she was smiling down at all of the "beeeutiful" roses and lilies that were there for her at her "Going Away" party!
The "Mother" bouquet that sat on top of her casket...~~~
Gram's special cardinals were nestled in among her "Mother" bouquet...
~~~
There were flowers honoring Gram as a Grandmother...
~~~
...and flowers to honor Gram as a Great-Grandmother, too.
~~~
And, two special flowers from her Great-Great Grandchildren.
Gram never got to meet her first great-great grandchild, Hannah, here on Earth. I know she is sitting in a rocking chair in Heaven, rocking Hannah and patting her little butt--Gram always liked to rock the little ones!
~~~
There were many flower arrangements from family and friends, too.
~~~
Gram would have been so proud!
~~~
A table with pictures, cardinals, some of Gram's violets, some Mother's Day Cards, her plastic canvas tulips, and (not pictured), Play-Dough, Nutty Bars, and Kool-Aid--all memories we have of our Gram.
A candle burned by the casket in honor of Gram...
~~~
There were so many friends and family that came to share their memories of Gram and to celebrate the life of a great lady.
I am proud to say she was my Gram.
