The Final Countdown

Friday, February 26th had the Barron Golden Boys traveling the hour and a half north to Poplar to challenge the top team in the conference, the Northwestern Tigers. Northwestern went all the way to the WIAA State Tournaments last year, and they have a good chance of making it there again this year.

The C-Team played their game in the "old" gym, as the Northwestern School District built a new gymnasium and this is their first year to use the new hardwood. The C-Team boys put up a good fight, but, in the end, they didn't have enough time left on the score board to pull off a win.

Andrew had a lot of playing time this year on C-Team as one of the starting five players. Here he is taking a rare, but well-deserved break!

The Varsity game proved to be an exciting game to watch. No one went into the game with real high expectations, yet our boys managed to play well throughout the game! At one point in the game, we were within two points of Northwestern!

Our boys played well, but Northwestern proved to be too much for the Bears, and we ended our regular season play with a loss. This was Andrew's final game for the 2009-2010 season, and Austin only has tournament play from this point forward.

Thanks to those of you who watched the Varsity game on the internet on ifan.com! What a fun way to be "at" the game without making the long drive!
