A (Four and a Half Hour) Road Trip

The Barron Golden Bears hosted their last home basketball game on Tuesday, February 23rd. This was a non-conference game against Colfax. Austin and Andrew were VERY fortunate to have some special spectators make a road trip to come to watch their last home game...
Three of the Borowski Family came all the way to Barron to enjoy some Golden Bear Basketball!
~~~
Abby was thrilled to have her cousin, Emily, with her for the night to watch some b-ball and to giggle with!
~~~
We found out that Andrew's C-Team game was CANCELLED for the evening at about 10:30 on Tuesday morning due to too many ill players on the Colfax team! What a bummer, since Auntie Sheila and Uncle Wes were making a special trip to watch the Klimie Boys play some ball.
Well, we were pleasantly surprised when Andrew was asked to suit up for the JV game, along with two other of his C-Team teammates! Even more awesome was that Andrew and his C-Team buddies actually got quite a bit of playing time during the JV game! We were happy he was able to play, after all!
Here is Elliott, Andrew, and Macky, the C-Team guys, on the JV bench...
~~~
Andrew at the point position--he did very well while he was in the game. He and his other teammates did not look out of place amongst the other JV players--we were proud of the guys.
The JV won by quite a good margin, and we were able to watch Andrew play after all.
~~~
Austin did not start for the Varsity game, as it was senior night, and the coach gave the starting spots to the senor varsity players. We will sure miss the seniors next year!
~~~
The Varsity game was a very intense and close game! Austin played well, and, again, his defense was great!
The Varsity game came down to the wire and kept us all on the edge of our seats until the last buzzer, but Barron came out on the winning side of the score board at the end, so it was a great night for BHS basketball!
~~~
After the game, some of Austin and Andrew's "fan club" lingered on the gym floor before we made a trip to Dairy Queen...
Grandma Deb, Grandpa Ken, Em, Sheila, Jamie, and Wes.

Thanks, Borowski's, for taking the time to make the trip to Barron to watch the boys play their favorite sport! We all appreciate you driving so far for such a short period of time!
Thanks, too, to Grandma Deb and Grandpa Ken for coming to so many basketball games this year! Now that you are living in Chippewa, you won't have near as many miles to go to come support your favorite athletes!
