Today was a BIG DAY for Andrew--he got his first deer ever in the Wisconsin Youth Hunt this weekend!!! He and Jamie were hunting in Nelson on Saturday and Sunday morning with no luck. It was VERY hot here, and no deer seemed to be moving about. Sunday afternoon, they went over to Jason's house in Independence, and only saw 2 turkeys. Just before it was about to get dark, a deer wandered near their blind! Andrew shot the doe dead-on, and now he has his "earn-a-buck" tag for the regular hunting season in November. He was SO EXCITED~ he called me at home from the blind just after he shot it! It was an exciting afternoon/evening!
