Wrestle Mania!!!!

Today our family piled in the "station wagon" and headed down Highway 25 to Durand to watch our favorite wrestler, CARTER DORWIN, compete in the Durand Wrestling Tournament!
~~~
Carter did a great job wrestling, and we could all see how much he had learned from last year. He never gave up in any of his matches, and we saw a lot of tears from many wrestlers at the meet, but none from Carter!
~~~
Carter weighed in at 48 pounds today. His first opponent weighed 51 pounds! Carter did really well against him--I believe he was from Eau Claire...
Going for the take-down...

Carter's got him right where he wants him!

Look at the determination on Carter's face!
~~~~
Carter's second opponent weighed in at 53 pounds! Carter put some good moves on this big guy!
~~~~
His final opponent of the day was his teammate, Taylor, who weighed in at 54 pounds--6 pounds more than Carter! Once again, he did his best, and he left the mat with a big smile!

Carter brought home an AWESOME trophy from his hard day of wrestling!

Chad, Carter, and Nicole
We had fun watching Carter wrestle, and we also got to visit with Grandpa Ken and Grandma Debbie, Bill and LaNita, Todd and Missy, and Dylan, Paige, and Cruz. LaNita is looking forward to heading to warmer weather in a few days when she flys to Florida to visit mom on Wednesday--lucky dog!!! Grandpa Ken is looking forward to only 40 more work days until he retires--again, lucky dog!!! (His retirement day is June 30th, but he has some vacation days to take between now and then...)
~~~
We stopped in Menomonie on our way home to see some movies (dad would be proud). Jamie and the boys dropped Abby and I off at the State Street Theater downtown so we could see "Enchanted", and they went on to the new theater to see the new Will Ferrell movie. The State Street Theater was very unique--that was my first visit there. It is an old building with the old marquis out front and 4 old theaters inside. We had to call an attendant on a walkie-talkie when we first got there so we could purchase our tickets and our snacks. Our theater was upstairs in the building. There were tables in the theater to set our refreshments on--very unique! We could have ordered pizza and had a meal there at the table if we chose to do so! I would go again, just for the ambiance--but Abby and I wouldn't recommend the popcorn--it tasted kind of stale!
:-)
Have a good week, everyone!
