Happy Golden Birthday, Jack!
Jack celebrated his GOLDEN BIRTHDAY on May 28th--golden birthday, you ask? Let me explain...
~~~
May 28th was Jack's fourth birthday. Since dogs age 7 years for our one year,
4 X 7 = 28!
Voila! Jack is 28 years old in dog years--his GOLDEN BIRTHDAY!!!
~~~
Sophie, on the other hand, was a bit spiteful and jealous of all of the attention that Jack received. Notice her nasty expression and her tounge sticking out--shame on you, Sophie!
~~~
The Klimie Kids all helped Jack celebrate...
Pioneer Village Museum
Last Wednesday, Abby's fourth grade class took a field trip to the Barron County Pioneer Village Museum. I was crazy enough fortunate enough to be chosen to be a chaperone for the afternoon. Abby's class had been at the museum the week before as volunteers--they raked the ENTIRE grounds and cleaned up after the winter to get the museum ready for the summer traffic.
~~~
The Pioneer Village Museum is composed of about 35 old buildings that have been moved on to the property from various areas within Barron County. Volunteers spend time in each of the buildings to explain to visitors the significance of the building and, also, what the furnishings of the buildings are.
~~~
Some of my favorite things to see were in the pioneer homes. Here is an old cook stove that I thought was especially cute...~~~
A cupboard with antique dishes...
~~~
Another old cookstove--check out the Swiffer broom in the background! Wow--those were some progressive pioneers!
~~~
I had a group of six girls. One of their favorite buildings to visit was the pioneer doctor's office. Here, a volunteer explains some of the equipment to the girls...
We also visited the old schoolhouse, where we discussed ink wells and what naughty boys used to do to girls with long braids that sat in front of them. It came as no suprise to the girls that boys could be rotten, even way back then!
The highlight of our trip to the Pioneer Village Museum (other than the Saloon--yep, you read that right! The girls were able to pick a treat there...), was the JAIL! I am not sure what the fascination was with the jail, but we spent quite a bit of time checking out the jailhouse and its sparse contents.
A few of them tried out another jail cell--they were brave, as there was a bee hive in this one!
Volleyball Wrap-Up
Abby's volleyball season came to an end a few weeks ago when she had her last tournament in Amery. We had a fun time with the girls--all 23 of them! Here is Abby's Volleyball Team, the Barron Fourth Grade Girls, 2009:~~~
A blurry bump--I had to include this picture because, if you look closely, Abby is looking at me taking her picture! She was too concerned with making sure I got her in action, that she didn't even watch the ball!
Unfortunately, I missed the Barron Maroon team photo, as I think one of the girls wanted to get her hair done, and then the opportunity passed...
Happy Fourteenth Birthday, Andrew!
Happy Birthday to our middle child, Andrew John!
~~~
Fourteen years ago today, you came into the world in quite a hurry, and you haven't slowed down since!~~~
My favorite picture of the new brothers... ~~~
Such a cute little boy with dimples and curly hair!
~~~
Andrew celebrated his big day today with a few of his closest friends...
~~~
Earlier in the day, Andrew tried out his birthday present--new golf clubs--out on the course with a few of the guys. Then, all thirteen of them headed out to Rice Lake to bowl a few games and enjoy some pizza and caffine...

After the bowling, the boys terrorized visited Wal-Mart for about 45 minutes until their movie started at the theater. Now, we have a house full of thirteen teenaged boys--I think it will be a L-O-N-G night!
:-)
~~~
We are proud of you, Andrew, and we enjoy watching you grow each day. You are such a great kid, and so much fun to be around! We LOVE you!!!
~~~
Happy Birthday, Andrew! We hope you had a great day!!!
