Sunday Night Sparks, Smoke, and S'mores

Tonight was a good night for a campfire.

According to Abby, that is. :-)

Abby and her friend, Sara, after fishing with Jamie this evening, decided a campfire was just what they needed to top off their night. Jamie was kind enough to humor them, and he lit the various twigs and sticks on fire that we have been collecting in our fire ring over the past few weeks (or months, as it may be).

WOW! Did those things BURN! Jamie had a fire about 20 feet high! Not sure Jamie was expecting that collection of twigs to flame up quite so brightly!

After about a half hour, the fire was down to a more manageable size...

Jack the dog, as it turns out, is also scared of fire! He reluctantly sat by Jamie's side for about a minute before running off to hide.

Of course, s'mores were made!

After I had roasted and browned my marshmallows to perfection and constructed the perfect s'more, guess who came along in the dark and snitched it right out of my hand and ate it in ONE GULP?!?!
