Basketball Updates...

Well, another weekend of basketball has gone by...
Time for an update from the Klimek Stat Book! :-)
Austin had a game on Friday night at Northwestern, which is a combination of the two towns of Poplar and Maple, WI. It is quite a drive from here, and is the farthest school in our conference. You can see Lake Superior from the school! I was fortunate enough to hitch a ride to the game with our friends, the Sloans, and we had a fun ride there and back. Unfortunately, Austin's game wasn't quite so fun, as the guys lost quite soundly in their C-Team game. I guess they forgot to pack their "game" when they packed their game jerseys! Even still, I was glad to get the chance to see Austin play again--he had a decent night. Our varsity, however, had a really exciting game, and ended up winning by only 3 points! It was a fun game to watch!

Saturday had us driving right back on those same roads, as Andrew had a tournament in Superior, WI for the day. Jamie took the day off, so our whole family made the trek "up north" for the day of basketball. Andrew's first game was against the dreaded Superior team that beat us in the League Championship Tournaments a few weeks ago in Altoona. Unfortunately, they didn't get any worse in these last few weeks, and they beat us again. :-(
The rest of our day, however, was much brighter, as the boys went on to beat Duluth East, Grand Rapids, and Rice Lake to take second place in the round-robin tournament.

Here is Andrew at the point-guard position making a play against some tight defense.

Poor little Abby gets dragged along to all of these tournaments week after week without too much complaining. She likes Andrew's games because her friend, Ahna, is at the games, too, and they have a great time playing together all day long. The girls were thrilled to have another friend to play with this Saturday, as their friend Mitch Rasmussen took a break from his studies at U of M Duluth and came to make paper airplanes with them! (he was really there to watch his little brother, Neil, but don't tell the girls that!)

It is hard to tell who is having more fun...
:-)
Abby even saved a seat for Mitch after the tournaments at Culvers--he was a great sport and sat with her and shared her french fries! Thanks, Mitch!
Austin has games this week at Somerset on Tuesday and Ladysmith on Thursday, and Andrew will be playing in a tournament in Stillwater on Saturday next weekend.
Have a good week, everyone!
